What Is Blueprint Business Advisory?
Sales consultants teach you to have an “elevator pitch,” which is a short description of what you do and why you do it.
I’m sure elevator pitches work in some situations, if you need an ice breaker or are peddling a commodity. I doubt they actually lead to real sales, as they are intrusive as best.
If someone tried to sell me life insurance in an elevator on the first meeting, I’d probably get off on the next floor to take the stairs.
I shy away from elevator pitches for two reasons:
First, in Sioux Falls, there is a complete lack of elevators. If there is one, chances are it goes up only one or two floors (so you need to talk fast).
Second, and more important, what I do is based on relationships and entails trust building — not gimmicky sales pitches.
So, what do I do, and why do I do it?
What I Do
I work with businesses that are profitable, growing, and willing to change.
I partner directly with business owners and their leadership teams to identify their long-term goals, along with the action steps required to accomplish those goals.
Because every situation is different, I employ active listening to tailor my recommendations to the specific needs of the business owner.
After more than 25 years of experience inside businesses, I have a distinct set of tools and resources — along with a deep referral network — to piece together the best solution for the opportunity at hand.
Why I Do It
I enjoy working with business owners to help them become better every day.
Business owners are some of the loneliest people in the world. They usually have no one to confide in as they deal with major issues.
As their consultant, I become a sounding board and counselor to help guide them to the best outcome. My joy is the accomplishment of their desires.
If you’d like to learn more about what I do, let’s get together for a cup of coffee. I’d love to get to know you better!
